Restore My Files

hi
i used a recovery CD that was provided with the laptop to recover something. but when i finished i lost so many Data that was on C drive and D drive . and my hard disk was repartitioned . it used to be 50-50 but now its like 98-2.
whats the problem ? why did this happen ?
how can i get the configuration back ?
i want the hard disk to be 50-50 and i want the DATA i lost
plz heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp

To re-partition the computer, you need to download some Partitioning software, I use Norton Partition Magic, BUT there are better ones. I don't know what, but search about.
It's pretty hard to get all the DATA back now.. Since something has gone wrong in the process of "fixing" your computer.. So I don't know what to recomend there.. Depending on how it was done.. There might not be ANY way of getting it back. Not ALL of' it anyway. So, sorry about that..
