I need to use a windows XP revovery CD and fast.Where in the UK (NW) can I buy one from a store?Iv'e looked on PC world website but can't find one.Are they available to buy?
(I only have compac recovery CD and don't want to restore the whole thing.) Also I dont have a CD burner so can't download as don't think it will fit on a floppy.Any advice please?Thanks.

They come with your computer… or from your computer manufacturer. You see, it would be a special OEM version.

The best place to get is your computer manufacturer,

download it from ares, kazaa, bear share.
and then unzip or use winrar to extract the files.
put the files in a folder and then burn it in a cd or
you re install/recover from the computer.
you don't have to burn it in a cd if you don't want to.
JUST MAKE SURE TO DOWNLOAD ALOT OF
DOCUMENTS WITH ALL THE KEY CODES
BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING TO NEED IT.
KEY ACTIVATION NUMBER AND LETTERS.

Go to your manufacturers website. They usually have recovery CD's available. The only problem is all recovery CD's are a complete re-install.
Try going back to a restore point.

Are you sure you want a recovery disk or just XP? If you truly need a recovery disk you will have to go to the PC manufacture. I f XP, most computer shops will sell you one. Google it.
