How can i recover the data from my CD which is scrached. I am able to see preview of some photoes in thumbnail view but as the CD is not fully readable i am not able to copy any of the photoes to my PC.
Can any one give me some idea how can i get those photoes
try to polish the cd with a toothpaste with a soft cotton inside out. and wash with water. then use isobuster to extract ur data. USe the following link to download Isobuster:

long time ago i read on a computer magazine that about someone having the exactly same problem and there was a solution.
what the person did was he put a bit of tooth paste on the CD and using fingers to gently spread it outwards from the center as if cleaning it, then using water to wash.
i’v tried this but it didn’t fixed any scratch CDs but it also didn’t do any damage.

its very true,,some tooth paste and a warm cloth will fix this,,, u must ofcourse be gentle,,, u must also understand that the data of a cD is written on the other side of the disk,, all of this shiny stuff is a protective coating that can (shouldn’t be) sanded down past any scratches that may block normal operations, ,u must sand in a up and down motion from top to bottom literally the top of the CD when held upright,,, i did this with metal gear solid as well so dont worry =) it worked
