   * Perform a Repair Installation

   * How do you perform a reinstallation of Windows, sometimes called a repair installation?

   * Insert your Windows Setup CD, and restart your computer.
   When the Press any key to boot from CD message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows CD.
   Press ENTER when you see the message To setup Windows now, and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen. Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console.

   * In the Windows Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement. Make sure that your current installation of Windows is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows.

   * Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.

   You need to boot from the recovery disk. Sometimes this means that you need to change your boot order in your bios depending on the type of computer. If when you start your computer you don’t see “Press any key to boot from disk…” for about 3 seconds then you need to press F12 when booting the computer and either chose boot from cd-rom or change the boot sequence to have the cd-rom number 2 then restart. When in the repair utility press R for repair and it will go through it all (it prompts you for all that)
