Laptop HDD Recovery and Transfer Problem. HDD appears to be dead. Need to know of HDD tester that is cheap.?

Looking for a reasonably priced HDD tester.

I have a Toshiba 2.5" hdd that appears to be dead, as in I cannot get it to be recognized on another machine. Am using a drivewire to transfer data to new desktop. It has worked with all my old hdd, except this one. (Yes, I know the differences in interfaces and jumper settings)

It was fine in the old laptop, there were other problems that forced me to buy a new one.

I really need to transfer the data over. Any ideas? Recovery, retrieval, whatever!

I've used Handy Recovery to recover data from dead hard drives. Freeze the drive for a day or 2 and quickly try to recover data.
