Hi friends, I've just formatted (by accident) one of my hard-disk partition (NTFS). It had some important data. Can anybody tell me – is there any fully functional (freeware) data recovery tool to handle this type of recovery ? please…
Please suggest a fully functional software, neither evaluation nor demo..
well, buddy you're pretty screwed, the data recovery software will only work if you had it before you formatted the partition.
ah but i have a solution that may work/may not; you can use system restore to the date/time you formatted the partition.

You need to go download the Hirens 9.5 Boot CD which is FREE. On this CD it has many data recovery programs including Format Recovery. Just do NOT use that drive as the more you use it, the less likely you are to retrieve information.
You can get Hirens from: http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geu5iwok5IrwIBboNXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTByamlqaW9mBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMwRjb2xvA2FjMgR2dGlkAw–/SIG=122brauan/EXP=1213199408/**http%3a//www.9down.com/Hiren-s-BootCD-9-5-23765/

most of the time when you format a hard drive the info is still there but the pathways to find it are erased so if you take it to a computer store they should have programs that can find the info and retrieve it

YOU CAN RECOVER THE DATA BUT YOU NEED TO BUY THE SOFTWARE BUT WORKS EVEN AFTER FORMAT
TRY RECOVER MY FILES FROM GOOGLE AND YOU CAN GET REGISTRATION FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE
GOOD LUCK

Download the program from { http://www.stellarinfo.com/partition-recovery.htm }. Click on the physical drive from which data has to be recovered. On the window that pops up click "Search Logical Drive". You are then prompted for a standard scan or advanced scan. I recommend the later.I think the rest can be handled. Note : do not save the recovered data on the logical disk being searched as it may cause the data to be overwritten.

I just lost mine too–with the same-sized partition! I'll give you this one, it has 20 recoveries trial (just use once, anyway). If it works, let me know.
