I have tried restarting he computer after rebooting and that works fine, however when I turn it off completely and try to turn it on again I have to go through the process of using the recovery disc all over again. Any ideas on what I can do to fix the problem? (I am not a computer whiz, please keep it simple!)
You never said why you have to use the recovery disks.Do you get an error message on start up ,if so what is the error?.

I recently used a recovery disc on my laptop because the "Internet has stopped working". It didn't work because I'm assuming that wasn't the correct solution.
Anyway, take it to the store you purchased it from. My mom is taking mine back to Best Buy this week.

Format and start from scratch. Uninstall windows essentially, then reinstall it. There are tons of step by step instruction on how to format and reinstall windows on hte internet. This will get your computer back to the way it was the day you got it, and wipe off everything in the memory.

Please DON'T format.
If your using windows and have a windows cd the easiest thing to do is fix the boot sector. You might want to print this out.
Restart the pc with Windows disk in drive,
Let it boot from cd, and it will start loading files, select that you want to use the repair console, enter admin password if you have one if not hit enter select which windows installation you want to fix(just follow prompts), then a the command line will appear, just type fixboot and hit enter. and thats it take cd out and restart.
