I have a Western Digital Netcenter 320 GB NAS drive that I accidentally removed the shared folder on and I need the data back. I have tried various recovery tools with no great luck so far. My preference would be to reestablish the old share and see my files in their original format. I have tried NTFS, Linux and FAT recovery tools but none seem to recognize the drives original format or even a partition type. Because this is a NAS drive I am unfamiliar with the type of embedded OS or the way in which the files are kept track of. As usual the Vendors site dies not appear to provide answers to my questions. Please help I am desperate.
I am not that familiar with that particular drive but i can tell you that any time i have lost data, FileScavenger 3.0 got it back. it takes a while, but it is compatible with most file systems. I have formatted a drive 4 times to see how well it worked and it got it back fine.
