how can i recover data from my laptop without opening its case ?

i got a new laptop which is still under warranty that is why i don’t want to open it. For some reason my window vista got corrupted and i had some important files in it which i want to recover. Could anybody please tell me how can i recover this data without opening my laptop. i don’t have any recovery disk so i need to install windows from original cd.

Why not boot off the Windows CD and just run the repair option?

This way Windows should get fixed and it will not delete your hard drive and you won’t loose your files.

With Windows Vista you do not need a recovery disk. Your laptop should have a recovery feature that doesn’t require a disk. Go to Start Menu, All Programs, Recovery Manager. Click Advanced Options, Recovery disc creation. This should all be in your manaual. You can always go to the Help Menu as well.
