Hopefully you have no essential files you need to recover from your PC. If you do there are many places that will recover files from a HD for a very high fee, average $5,000 per 250GB hard drive. Google that topic and you will see. I will do it much, much cheaper, if you contact me, but I don't even know if I am supposed to advertise here, but anyway (mikejbrown@sbcglobal.net). To recover your files and restore your PC with a valid restore CD and genuine Windows software will cost you a total of about $250.
If you have no files you really want to save that much, then choose option 1, delete the existing partition, ignore the warnings about losing all data, create the new partition(s), and recover your PC to the original factory state.

Just tap the F-10 key, as your computer is booting up. This is called a "system recovery" You do not need to put any cd's in the tray. Follow the prompts that come up on the screen, you will loose everything on your computer, so back up things you want to keep. Only do this, if xp is loaded onto your computer. When you are finished, install all of your security programs, get windows update (express mode) get windows firewall, and install service pack 2..Good Luck..

Take it to a reliable service. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars.

Additional Post: Delete current partition? You should have an option in the recovery menu for something like Destructive install. I suppose Destructive means it will erase everything already there. Or if the standard Windows install menu is presented, you should get to a menu selection where it asks if you want to keep the current partition or delete it. If you delete – follow the prompts by carefully reading them. But you won't be able to add another partition if all of the drive is in use. If you delete the current partition, you'll lose all data on that partition. Doesn't sound as if you have much of an option here.
