My desktop crashed (still working on finding out the problem) and I purchased a hard drive enclosure to save the data from the crashed computer and put them on a laptop. So far everything works except all of my music and photos from college are in the "My Documents and Settings" folder which I cannot access because "Access is Denied", since I had an account with a password on my old computer. Is there any way to go around this?
login as an administrator on your laptop then right-click on the folder and go to properties, then to the security tab. from there, click Advanced, then to the Owner tab. Take ownership of the directory and all the files within the folder (click the checkbox at the bottom).
Now you should be able to copy the files to where you need them.

you're probably looking in the wrong folder if you know the name of one of the pics search for it and note the location of it I've done that myself once or twice
