How DriveClone Pro 6 Works
DriveClone Pro 6 clones an entire hard drive or a single partition by copying used data sectors from a source hard drive to a destination hard drive. If you need to clone to a larger hard drive, DriveClone Pro lets you resize the partition(s) on the destination hard drive.
Cloning and imaging are done within Windows and do not require a system restart. All personal data, installed applications, operating system files, settings, and configurations will be replicated on the destination hard drive.
When DriveClone Pro creates a complete backup image, it copies only used data sectors on a hard drive or selected partition and saves the data as a compressed image file. The image file can be stored on CD-DVD, on a network share, to external USB or FireWire hard drive, or to another hard drive within your computer.
When DriveClone Pro incrementally updates a saved image, only changed data sectors are backed up. This reduces the file size of the backup image and and the time it takes to complete the incremental update.
DriveClone Pro’s System Snapshot is a separate component that automatically creates system backups at scheduled intervals and saves the backup points to a protected partition of the hard drive. System Snapshot enables fast recovery from software related data disasters such as a bad application installation.
The file backup feature keeps automatically generated copies of each saved version of personal files. File backup can be configured to include or exclude certain file types, folders, etc.
Complete and Incremental Backup
DriveClone Pro 6 backs up your entire system with a hard drive image saved to USB hard drive, a network share, or to CD/DVD. This complete backup image offers a baseline backup point for any future system recovery.
The software will prompt you to schedule automatic incremental updates to your complete backup image to keep data fresh and ensure a minimum of data loss in the event of a catastrophic data disaster.
Create 3 Kinds of Boot Disks
Rescue DiskThis must be created prior to installing DriveClone Pro 6. Should your system fail to start following DriveClone Pro 6 installation, you can insert the Rescue Disk to boot your computer and reverse any changes that occurred during the installation process. You’ll have the option of uninstalling DriveClone Pro 6 or undoing changes made to the Master Boot Record.
Start-up DiskAllows you to boot your computer and browse for a saved restore point. This is particularly useful when you’re replacing a hard drive.
Recovery DiskA Complete Backup image, stored on a bootable CD/DVD, that allows you to restore your computer system.
