First of all I would just like to say that I am ok with computers, not a beginner but in no way an expert!
I want to perform destructive recovery on my pc. I have the disk and have done it before so its not a problem.
My question is:
I have copy and pasted all of my music, videos, photos, games, documents that I want to keep on a HD Player (like the one in the following link) with a Samsung mp0402h hard drive.

or
http://www.hardstore.hk/HD-DIVX-HARD-DISK-PLAYER.2.15.116.gp.623.-1.0.uw.aspx
When I first plugged it via USB it didn’t come up in “My Computer”
To get it up I right clicked “My Computer”, “Manage”, “Disk Management”, right clicked the device, clicked “new partition” then followed instructions and formatted on J drive.
So what I want to know is if I now do a destructive recovery when the pc is finished and ready will I be able to plug in the HD Player and put the backup files straight back on my computer, or will I need to follow the above steps again to get it to come up in “My Computer”? Therefore losing my data be re-formatting the hard drive?
as your using your HD player like an external hard drive you should just be able to format the computer and later on transfer your saved files from your HD player…
