		<description>before you do anything drastic! take out the cmos battery leave it overnight reboot next day. if that don&#039;t work try changing or checking the ram is inserted correctly....i had this problem!!!

		<description>create a bootable CD from BartPE.  Not sure how it will deal with file protection but if you can&#039;t get them that way.

Create a linux bootable disc and move the files you want after booting.  

Data recovery services are extremely expensive.  Several years ago, it cost $1000 to look at your drive to determine if it was save-able.  That cost did not include the recovery.

You could take it too a local repair shop and they could give you an estimate.
If it was me I would pull out the drive and use a USB to IDE/SATA adapter.  This will make your hard drive act like an external hard drive.
