Laptop Harddrive failed. Recover Data?

I have a Dell laptop. When the laptop is booted you get a BSOD. I took the drive out and hooked it up to a usb / laptop harddrive connector. The Drive is detected and is installed by windows. Doesn't show up
any way to reverse formatted hard drive daughter deleted my d drive so system restore wont work how to fix it.
